Wellington in Bloom is inviting families, preschool nurseries, schoolchildren, green volunteer groups and residents in care homes to create in a garden or a wildlife area in their grounds, using only recycled materials collected this year. This is a competition for all ages and would be an ideal activity for children during schools’ half term.
The finished project should be between 1 – 3 metres square (a gazebo) and easily accessible to give a range of small wild animals and insects a safe winter home.
Wellington in Bloom judges will visit each project in November 2018. The winning entry will receive a trophy of three hedgehogs given to Wellington in Bloom in memory of wildlife supporters Bridget & Michael Baker. The trophy will be with the winner for a year.
Wellington in Bloom thanks Odette’s tearooms for generously allowing the use of their window to display the trophy and to supply entry forms. Entry is free.
HOW TO ENTER: Collect an entry form from the library or from Odette’s or by email at email@example.com
