Demand for tickets to the live National Theatre performance of Warhorse at the Wellesley in February is so great that the cinema has had to schedule two extra showings in March and April.
“The show on Feb 27th sold out very quickly and so many more people wanted tickets that it made sense to offer extra performances,” said Wellesley partner Stewart Cusack. The cinema is offering a large number of live shows in the coming months, with Don Giovanni from Covent Garden and the Royal Ballet’s version of Sleeping Beauty among the highlights. War Horse, based on the beloved novel by Michael Morpurgo, is a powerfully moving and imaginative WW! drama, filled with stirring music and magnificent artistry. South Africa’s Handspring Puppet Company brings breathing, galloping, full-scale horses to life on the stage — their flanks, hides and sinews built of steel, leather and aircraft cables.
