Visitors to ‘Water’s Edge’, the exhibition of work by local artist Claire Western at The Old Brick Workshop in Poole, will find themselves immersed in the powerful waterscapes of the South West. Canvasses inspired by the movement of sea on rugged coastlines that the painter has known and been inspired by throughout her life line the walls of the gallery alongside others showing more tranquil inland rivers and streams. All of them capture the dramatic relationship between water and its landscape.
The exhibition was previewed on Sunday 1st April and now runs at the gallery until 8th April. Claire Western is currently Head of Art at a Taunton school but, from the autumn, will be launching a series of courses in painting, drawing and printing. Details of the courses can be found during the exhibition at The Old Brick Workshop.
