Members of Wellington Business Association undertook the tough task of a site visit to the award-winning Otter Brewery.
Situated in a beautiful wooded valley in the Blackdowns, just east of Dunkeswell airfield, Otter is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2015 and going from strength to strength. And still based in the farmyard where it began.
Head brewer Keith Bennett took the WBA members from the delivery bay where hops and barley come in, through brewing and settling vessels t the dug-into-the hillside cellar where the finished beer is stored.
Still a family-owned and run business, Otter now produces almost 30,000 pints of beer a week and is available all over southern England and in London, although the South West is its primary market place.
Expansion is still the way forward for the Otter clan, especially with the launch this year of its new Tarka lager.
