Quantock Brewery, a local firm achieving great success through traditional methods, is funding its next stage of growth by finding individual investors via the web. The company has just raised £120,00 on the UK’s largest crowdfunding equity site, CrowdcubeLtd.
“This is fantastic news and our new investors will add to the loyal following that our ales already have,” commented founder director Rob Rainey. “It means we will be able to expand our brewing volumes by installing additional equipment.”
Quantock’s best-selling Will’s Neck beer has recently won a UK supreme champion prize and is now available in scores of SW outlets in casks and bottles.
“Crowdfunding means we can avoid the difficulties of raising finance for expansion via conventional
banking,” commented fellow director Fred Domellof. Crowdcube has already raised over £12m on its site for start-up and early-stage businesses.
