Upper Key Stage 2 pupils at St John’s Primary School, Wellington, ended their autumn term topic of World War 2 with a picnic.
The children had researched WW2 recipes online, chosen recipes and made them at home. A spokesperson for the school said, “The end result was tables groaning under the weight of cakes, biscuits and puddings which were delicious. While eating, children listened to WW 2 music until the air raid siren signalled an orderly evacuation onto the playground.”
On Tuesday 5 December the whole of the school – pupils, staff and parents – came together for a traditional Nativity performance in St John’s Parish Church.
The performance included readings, the lighting of Advent candles, carols sung by the school choir and the full congregation.
The children in the Reception class created a charming and beautifully costumed tableaux of the Nativity.
