The 91st Wellington Flower Show takes place this Saturday.
The show runs from 2pm at Wellington School’s ARC – next to the Princess Royal Sports Centre off South Street – with disabled visitors welcome from 1.45pm.
Organisers say: “Although growing conditions have been challenging this year – an understatement! – we will still have plenty for visitors to admire, from fruit, veg and flowers, to floral art, craft and cookery. There will also be lots of children’s entries.
“The refreshments this year are in the capable hands of the Monumental Women of Wellington and we are grateful to them for overseeing this important part of the show.
“There will also be stalls selling a variety of craft items and also some plants and honey for you to buy.
“Our MP, Gideon Amos, will present the cups and awards around 4.30pm and the show will draw to a close at 5pm.
“If you are in town at 11am, there will be a reminder from our very own Town Crier, Andrew Norris, that the show is taking place.
“Do come along and support us. Entry is £2 for adults and 50p for children.”
