Organist Camilla Jarnot will be performing at St John’s Church, Wellington on Saturday, November 14th, at 3pm with proceeds from the concert going towards the organ maintenance fund.
Camilla studied at RHBNC, University of London earning BMus (Hons.) and MMus degrees and holds a DMA in Organ Performance from Boston University, USA.
In 2000, she was awarded the first Margaret Power Biggs Research Grant by the Organ Library of the American Guild of Organists for her research on T. Tertius Noble.
Camilla had an active career in the USA, serving at churches in Boston, New York City, and New Jersey, notably as Associate Organist at Boston University’s Marsh Chapel.
She taught organ at Boston University, played with the Boston University Symphony Orchestra and performed on the Great Organ at Methuen Memorial Hall.
After moving to the Princeton New Jersey area, Camilla was a visiting organ teacher at the American Boychoir School. She performed at Princeton University Chapel, accompanied several Princeton area choirs and served as Dean for the Central New Jersey Chapter of the American Guild of Organists.
Since returning to the UK, she has performed with the cellist Mikhail Lezdkan in Winchester Cathedral and with Vox, Farnham chamber choir.
Camilla accompanies the West Somerset Singers and, in addition to playing for services at St John’s Wellington, she has accompanied services at various Taunton area churches and for several Choral Evensongs at Taunton Minster where she also gave a recital in June 2026 featuring Late Romantic organ repertoire.
Her programme at St John’s includes Festival Toccata Percy E. Fletcher (1879-1932),Dumka, Op. 31, No. 1 Feliks Nowowiejski (1877-1946) and Prelude and Fugue in C minor, BWV 546 J.S. Bach (1685-1750).
The programme will be approximately 60 minutes and refreshments will be served after the concert.
