Pupils and their families at Wellesley Park Primary School are getting into the Christmas spirit early this year by supporting Wellington Baptist Church’s contribution to ‘Operation Christmas Child’. Those taking part will fill a shoebox with gifts – toys, school supplies, hygiene and small clothing items – which will be sent to the international charity Samaritan’s Purse for distribution around the globe.
Samaritan’s Purse UK is an international relief and development organisation that works through local churches to demonstrate Christian values and compassion amongst communities in need in countries across Sub-Saharan Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Their current work involves giving much-needed assistance to the many thousands of refugees now in southern and eastern Europe.
The charity, which has offices in the USA, Canada, Germany, and Australia, has been providing spiritual and physical support to those in need around the world since 1970.
