The latest Wellington Independent Market closed at 3pm today (Saturday) with organisers Maxine Price and Charlotte Beatty expressing their satisfaction with the community’s response to the initiative and the number and range of stallholders who took pitches.
There was plenty to buy ranging from good things to eat and drink to crafts – including top hats made from recycled leather and very pretty hand-made dresses for small girls and their dolls.
There was face-painting and stalls representing local organisations. St John’s Ambulance volunteers offered CPR training to adults and children too – they could practice on a doll.
Live music from different groups from 10.30am to 3pm climaxed with Paradox, six talented young people from Court Fields School – all between the ages of 13 and 16 – whose set attracted big crowds.
The next Wellington Independent Market will be on Saturday, December 12th.
