Wellington Town Council says it has been advised by Somerset Council of forthcoming National Grid works which will result in a road closure on Waterloo Road.
A statement said: “In the early summer this year, National Grid performed major network reinforcement works along Waterloo Road and Station Road in Wellington.
“Following on from this successful piece of work, the next phase of their project is due to begin.
“This next phase of work is scheduled to take place on Waterloo Road from 12th October to 20th November.
“As mentioned, these works form part of a significant project by National Grid to improve the reliability and long-term resilience of the electricity network in Wellington, helping to ensure a more robust and dependable supply for residents and local businesses.
“During the works, the road will be closed just east of junction of Seymour Street, up to the junction of George Street.
“As before, HGV access, residential access, and bus services will be maintained throughout the duration of the works.
“All other traffic will be required to follow the signed diversion routes, which will be in place to manage vehicle movements safely and efficiently.
