The Green Dragon in South Street has opened its door to customers once again. Extensive refurbishment has transformed the 250 year old pub into a comfortable bar and restaurant with a stone-flagged courtyard and an additional downstairs seating area.
Styling has preserved an old-world charm with vintage clocks – all displaying the time accurately – and furniture reflecting aspects of the building’s former days. Fireplaces and wooden flooring in the bar have been retained and the atmosphere presented is comfortable and relaxed.
The kitchen will begin operating “over the next few weeks” according to new manager Becky Holmes whose husband, Jamie, will be in charge of catering. The 13 en suite bedrooms providing accommodation for guests will come online in the next three months.
