Wellington Mayor Bob Bowrah was joined by Olympic bronze medalist Ed Ling to open The Skylark’s Christmas Fair at the weekend. Ed won his medal in the trap shooting event at the Rio Olympics this summer and brought it along.
The Skylark’s event was organised by Steve Cook. He said, “The aim is to raise money for a children’s charity from letting the stalls. We have 22 booked here today which is more than last year and we have Wellington Brass Band, Wellington Carnival’s Santa float, members of the cast of Wellington Pantomime Group’s January show and students from Court Fields School choir to provide entertainment.”
This event is just one of a number held during the year at The Skylark with money raised at each one going to charities.
