Wellington Carnival Committee has started the search for its new Royal Family to represent Wellington Carnival and the town from 1st August 2018 until 30th June 2019. All interested applicants will need to attend our Royalty Pageant at Wellington Football Club on Sunday 15th July at 2.30pm.
A spokesperson for the Wellington Carnival Committee said, “We are looking for a Carnival Queen, Carnival King and two prince/princesses. Princes and Princesses must be aged 7-15 years of age on the date of Wellington Carnival (29th September 2018) and Kings/Queens must be aged over 16 years of age when Wellington Carnival takes place.
“Those selected will receive a magical and unique Somerset Royal experience and will lead Wellington Carnival on an illuminated float. There is also a requirement for representing Wellington at Carnivals in Ilminster, Chard and Taunton as well as attending a variety of additional community engagements to represent Wellington Carnival or our town.
“Entries are £5, and extra points can be scored by raising additional sponsorship. The event is being sponsored again by Unwin Photography and ALL entrants attending the pageant will receive a professional photograph on the day of the pageant.
