A charity rugby match is being staged by Wellington RFC this Saturday as the build-up to the new season gets under way.
It is being organised by the Vixens Women with proceeds going to the CoppaFeel! cancer charity.
They had originally planned to take on Yeovil in a competitive fixture but that has been ruled out by the hot summer.
The Vixens say: “Due to the ground being too hard to play a contact game our Wellington men have stepped up to give us a game of touch so that the event can still go ahead.
So please get down and support both teams and our amazing charity – look forward to seeing you on Saturday.”
In addition to the rugby, there will be a raffle with some great prizes, a bake sale, ice cream van and music throughout the afternoon.
After the game, there will be club’s BBQ will be open along with lots and fun and games.
CoppaFeel! is the UK’s only youth-focused breast cancer awareness charity.
It mission is to ensure all breast cancers in young people are diagnosed early and accurately.
