Kingdom Hall may become housing

Once used for worship by the Jehova’s Witnesses, the Kingdom Hall in White Hart Lane may be turned into two houses. According to the church’s coordinator Jonathan Fisher the congregation has grown to such an extent that the Wellington building was no longer suitable. They now meet in Taunton at other premises belonging to the church.

New owner James Hawkings of Hawkings Cladding Ltd has put forward a planning application to turn the hall into two semi-detached town houses. Agents Greenslade Taylor Hunt told planners by letter that there was very little purchaser interest in the property for use as a hall due to a difficult access and lack of parking.
