Six pupils from the choir at St John’s Primary School, Wellington, were chosen to take part in this year’s World Day of Prayer service at St John’s church on Friday 1st March.
The girls met with Julie Tucker just once to learn the songs, and then continued to rehearse at school.
The service was filled with hymns, prayers, two songs performed by the six girls and a presentation of gifts to the choir.
Afterwards, cakes and drinks were provided and the girls were able to talk with the congregation who commented on their amazing voices and their performance. One lady said that the girls are ‘the women of the future’ – which was the theme of the service – and that they were ‘wonderful representatives of St John’s Primary School’.
