Half Moon Inn at Clayhidon is well and truly on the national map this weekend. The weekly feature A Good Walk, in the Times every Saturday, features a five-mile hike around the Blackdowns and Culm Valley starting and finishing at the Half Moon.
Author Christopher Somerville doesn’t really describe the pub – except to be grateful for its log fire to dry his soaking feet after a very wet walk – but those of us who know the pub can sing its praises as a great little rural pub with good beer, great food and a view south across the Cum Valley that must be one of the finest in Devon.
