Rockwell Green C of E Primary School was inspected by an Ofsted team last month and judged to be ‘GOOD’ in all areas. The report begins: ‘This is a good school’ and goes on to detail ‘the achievement of the pupils, the quality of the teaching, the behaviour and safety of the pupils and the leadership and management’: all of which were inspected and judged to be ‘GOOD’.
The report states “Pupils achieve well because the supportive leadership of the Headteacher has built a strong team who work together to help pupils make good progress. The pupils behave well and feel safe in the school.”
Headteacher Peter Williamson said: I am absolutely thrilled and delighted for everybody at Rockwell Green School. This is our second consecutive ‘GOOD’ Ofsted inspection and it reflects the consistent hard work and high quality achievements of all the staff, governors and children working closely together with our parents.”
The school will be particularly pleased with improvement in performance in reading at Key Stage 2 which place it in the top 20% of all UK schools. Performance in Maths at Key Stage 1 has improved by eleven percentage points since 2011, placing it in the top 40% of all schools.
With two other local schools – Wellesley Park Primary and Court Fields – receiving highly critical appraisals this year, this Ofsted report and its findings are particularly good news for local parents and pupils.
