A special screening of Grease is taking place at the Wellesley Cinema next week with proceeds going to charity.
The cinema says on its Facebook page: “In light of the sad news of Olivia Newton-John passing, we are holding a screening of Grease next Thursday, August 18th, and £1 from every ticket sold will be donated to Macmillan Cancer Support.”
Olivia, 73, died from cancer this week at her California ranch surrounded by family and friends.
The British-born Australian singer and actress was best known for playing Sandy in Grease, one of the most successful film musicals ever made.
It was the biggest box-office hit of 1978, and gave Olivia three huge hit singles, including You’re The One That I Want and Summer Nights, both performed with co-star John Travolta.
