Local charity Reminiscence Learning was delighted to hear that funds have been allocated by Wellington Town Council for all local participating primary schools to undertake the national Archie Project for a further academic year.
The project is carried out in primary schools across the country and links Year 4 pupils with a care setting local to the school, educating the children about the signs, symptoms and types of dementia.
It aims to break down barriers and tackle the stigmas which can often be associated with those living with dementia.
A spokesperson for the charity said: “Reminiscence Learning would like to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt thanks to Wellington Town Council for once again providing such a wonderful and informative opportunity for Wellington’s young residents!”
