Wellington Museum in Fore Street recently took possession of a photograph, taken by professional photographer A E French who ran a business in the town between 1891 and 1908.
The museum says: “There is nothing on the photograph (see it in full below) to identify the couple.
“The man is wearing a biretta, indicating that he may hold an office in a Catholic or High Anglican church.
“Any suggestions as to the identity of the couple and/or location would be welcome.”
