Wellington-based Many Hands Brew Co is celebrating a top award.
It won Champion Keg Stout and Porter at the South West Indie Beer Awards (SIBA) for its 4.5% milk stout, Shadow Puppets.
Many Hands Brew Co moved to our town at the end of last year.
Head brewer Tom Weymouth (above centre), said: “Our beers are influenced by the modern American craft beer movement, as well as traditional European brewing styles.
“We originally started in Dunkeswell, brewing in two 40-foot shipping containers. Now we are set up in the basement at Tonedale Mill.
“We run a taproom bar every Friday and Saturday from 5pm at Brazier’s Cafe. We are also building our own dedicated taproom space at Tonedale Mill which I hope to open in the next couple of months.
He added: “As a category champion, we are now in the running for the national awards, which are held at the BeerX conference in Liverpool in March.
“Other notable breweries in the category included St Austell and Moor Beer, so this is a huge achievement for one person, brewing solo.”
Beers made by Tom have previously won awards from SIBA, Taste of the West, Food Drink Devon, and the Guild of Fine Foods.
