It’s been a soggy scene in our High Street today (Saturday) but that didn’t stop hundreds of people enjoying the latest Wellington Independent Market.
Organisers Maxine Price and Charlotte Beatty took the decision to go ahead despite the weather forecast and were rewarded with another excellent show of support for their efforts.
There were a number of new faces among the stallholders while local MP Gideon Amos was also in attendance.
Maxine told Around Wellington: “We’d really like to thank everyone who came along, particularly the stallholders for braving the elements.
“We had a couple of cry-offs because of the weather – which also forced us to cancel the entertainment programme – but, apart from that, it went like clockwork.”
Their next market is an exciting new venture – Maxine and Charlotte are staging the Wellington Food and Drink Festival on Saturday, September 5th.
