It’s another busy summer at Wellington Tennis Club and here is the latest round-up.
Junior coaching has now taken a break in the school holidays.
Head coach Dan Sizer awarded the Graham Jones Cup to Jenson and Phoebe (pictured) in recognition of consistently attending lessons and making good progress.

The 3 teams still have a few matches left in the West Somerset Tennis League.
Wellington A are currently third in Division One and have their final match tomorrow (Monday).
James Cross, Liz Deem, Kevin Jones and Sue Rackley hope to have a strong finish to their competitive season. The team have managed to have some strong 10-0 wins against Trull B twice and Bridgwater A while Trull A lead the division.
Connor Sellick and Yaz Cannell have also played for the A team.
Wellington B have had a more consistent season than last year, winning four out of eight matches and tying one.
However, it has still been a struggle to build consistent partnerships due to availability.
Players have been Aly Spiller, Amelia, Margaret Staker, Greg Sellers, Sam Ogilvie, David Norkett and David Goldsack.
Chair Sue Rackley said: “We really could field another mixed team if we could find a few ladies who could commit to playing nearly all the matches. Mixing around doesn’t really get good results.
“If you’ve played competitively before, we’d love to hear from you.”
In recent weeks, the B team have had two consecutive wins and have two matches remaining.
They have 45 points with two matches in hand and sit in third place behind Bridgwater C with Taunton School A in first – the school has broken up for summer but still needs to fulfil two fixtures.
The men’s team have romped away, winning all their matches convincingly. They still have one match to play but have already secured promotion into Men’s Division 1.
Public booking has picked up a greatly since Wimbledon and players can book a court via the club’s website for £8 an hour.
