Organisers of Wellington Carnival have expressed their delight in the final collection total of £3,800.
Thousands of people lined the street for last Saturday’s glittering parade and they dug deep for various causes with the final tally about £500 up on last year.
Andy Thorne from the Carnival Committee said: “It’s fantastic considering the current economic climate.
“Thanks to everybody who gave so generously and to all the organisations which collected.
“Anybody who would still like to give can do so by visiting the new Wellington Carnival website – Wellingtoncarnival.co.uk – and going into the Donate page
There will be a presentation to beneficiaries of the collection in the Conservative Club on Monday, October 21st at 6.30pm.
Anyone interested in helping with the Carnival next year can also pop along, meet the current team and ask any questions.
