A Year 7 pupil at Wellington School enjoyed a hugely successful summer competing in international Mounted Games competitions with his horse, Flicka.
Oakley became World Pairs Champion at the IMGA World Pairs Championship in France, also finishing second at the European Individual Championships and third at the World Individual Championships in Germany.
Mounted Games see riders and ponies take part in a series of races which involve a mix of turns, handovers, skill, vaulting and galloping.
A school spokesperson said: “Mounted Games is a fast-paced sport which requires a strong partnership between horse and rider, making these results even more impressive at just 11 years old.
“Oakley has only just joined us in Year 7, but he’s certainly arrived with quite a story to tell.
“We’re looking forward to following his progress and supporting him as he continues to compete at such an impressive level.
“Congratulations, Oakley.”
