Three teams of ladies from Wellington Bowling Club were away to Yeovil and returned home with a well-deserved victory.
Janet Moore (pictured) was particularly pleased because it was the first time she had been captain.
Together with Janet Lovell and Shirley Samuel, her team were 14-11 down with four ends to play but bowled well to win it 18-15.
Wendy Scott, June Anderson and Christine Willcocks were on top form. Their opponents had to fight hard to win any shots, and the Wellington trio came through 31-9.
Debbie Lane, Pauline Wadham and Gill Groves led early on, but their opponents caught up and pinched it on the line, 18 -17.
The result was an excellent victory to Wellington, 66-42.
