Olympic campaign grant for Andrew

Andrew Martin has been given a grant of £500 by the town council towards his campaign to represent Great Britain at the Tokyo  Paralympics in 2020. Andrew showed the councilors a breakdown of his annual costs of approximately £10,000 for competing in para-badminton worldwide. It includes, travel, accommodation, entry fees, training, equipment and physio.

Andrew returned from the BWF Para-Badminton World Championships in Korea last November with a Gold Medal and as Mixed Doubles World Champion for the third time. Before leaving for Korea he had made this his priority having won Gold in the previous two World Championships in 2013 and 2015.
