Wellington Pantomime Group has had outstanding success for ‘Alice in Wonderland’ at the ‘Cinderella’ Awards . Somerset Fellowship of Drama organise the competition which had entries from 26 other pantomimes. WPG had 17 nominations, won 7 awards and provided two ‘stars of the future’
Wellington’s award winners were as follows:
Young Comic of the Year – Catherine Vicarage(‘King’)
Best make-up– Heli Vile & team
Linkman of the Year– Sam Shepherd(‘Joker’)
Best Theatre Musicians- Ian Webb-Taylor, Jo Buck, Oli Redstone, John Skittrell, Andrew “Sonic” Samuels
Dame of the Year– Paul Smith (‘Dame Millicent Milksop’)
Best Musical Director– Ian Webb-Taylor
Special Award- ‘Dreamer of the Year’ awarded to Alice Cambridge for her portrayal of Alice. This is Alice’s second SFD award in as many years. Last year Alice was presented with an award for the ‘Most Magical Moment’ in a pantomime, for her portrayal of the Music Box Doll in ‘Robin Hood and the Babes in the Wood’
Ebony Sellick and Catherine Vicarage were named as two of the ‘Stars of the Future’
Wellington Pantomime Group was also asked to perform ‘Can You Feel The Love’ at the evening cabaret. The quartet comprised Chloe Richards, Emily Fear, Kathryn Fear and Fiona Hobday. The awards audience clearly enjoyed the performance which had gone down such a treat with the panto goers
