Wacky Wednesdays are now such a recognised feature of Wellington’s school holiday activities it was not surprising that there were queues for the latest event on Wednesday 20 February at Court Fields Pre School and Wellington Community Centre.
The ‘House Warming Party’ provided children from 0 to 11 with lots of activities – play, crafts, face-painting, smoothy-making on the ever-popular bike (demonstrated by Emma and Archie from Reminiscence Learning) and games – all provided and supervised by volunteers from a number Wellington community groups. And all for just £1. Wacky Wednesdays also provide parents and carers with a chance to relax and socialise during the vacation.
The barbecue was alight as usual for burgers and hot dogs and there were refreshments available.
Wacky Wednesdays are organised by Shona Stone of Liverty who brings together teams from Court Fields Pre School, Wellington Town Council, Wellington Churches Together, Better, Reminiscence Learning, getset, Wellington One Team, SSAL and Taunton Deane Borough Council and representatives from Avon and Somerset Police.
