Pupils and staff at St John’s C of E Primary School headed for the end of a busy term with Christmas celebrations both in school and at St John’s Parish Church this week.
More than 60 Reception and Key Stage 1 pupils took part in two performances of ‘Donkey for Sale’ for families in the school hall. The performance was adapted and directed by KS1 co-ordinator Mrs Lucy Crowe.
On Wednesday 16 December, the whole school came together for a traditional Nativity Performance in St John’s Church which was decorated for the occasion with flocks of sheep coloured and decorated by pupils. The performance included readings, the lighting of Advent candles, carols sung by the school choir and the full congregation and the youngest pupils created charming and beautifully costumed tableaux of the nativity. St John’s Rector Rev Tim Treanor gave the final blessing.
