It was the turn of Rod Thomas to entertain the big crowds at Wellington Park today (Sunday) for the Friends’ latest concert.
His varied music encouraged all kinds of dancers on to floor – from those who prefer gentle movement to others who like the pacier kind.
The Friends of Wellington Park, led by Roger and Sandra Nunn, have four more Sunday concerts on their programme.
They hope to attract the same big crowds which have already made this summer’s concerts particularly popular events.
It is worth mentioning that it’s not just the music and the chance to dance that draws people together each Sunday but the social environment too.
The concerts are free but a collection helps to generate funds to pay for the musicians. There are refreshments available and some seating in the shade.
With the perfect weather looking as though it’s with us a little longer. the next four Sundays are an opportunity for everyone to join the crowds in the town’s beautiful park and enjoy the music.
