Sunny, warm and dry is the forecast for May Day in the Park on Monday. It’s the first of the very popular summer events organised by the Friends of the Park and features live music on the bandstand from Lazy River, with interval entertainment from the Taunton Morris Men.
There will be a large number of stalls selling bric-a-brac, plants, books, cakes, sweets and games plus tombola. The organisers also promise a mini dog show ( for those of you with a small dog).
Swingboats are certain to be a hits with children, as well as face-painting, bouncy castle, TNT Disco, entertainer Steve Apelt, and a chance to try circus skills. Scouts, Army cadets and St John Ambulance will also be there.
Taunton Mayor Libby Lisgo opens the May Day celebrations at 1.30pm, assisted by Wellington’s mayor Gloria Copley. Events go on until 5pm.
