First guided tour is a sell-out success

Guided history tours of our town centre got off to a successful start at the weekend.

They are being run by the Town Crier, Andrew Norris, in conjunction with Wellington Museum.

Sunday’s first walk was over-subscribed with the maximum number of 15 people braving sunshine and showers to learn about the historic sites and people of Wellington, delivered in Andrew’s inimitable style.

The next tour is on Sunday, September 27th, and the cost is £5 per person.

Places must be booked in person at the museum, which is at The Squirrel, 28 Fore Street.

It’s open Monday to Friday, 10am-4pm, and Saturday, 10am-1pm.

A museum spokesperson said: “Come along and learn about the history and happenings in Wellington – a splendid time is guaranteed for all!”
