Wellington Theatre Company are busy polishing their tap shoes before they take to the Arts Centre stage in Richard Harris’s warm and very funny comedy,” Stepping Out”. An incompetent and incompatible group of 7 women and one solitary man who go to an evening tap dance class, are hilariously transformed into a triumphant line of performers , complete with fishnets, tailcoats, glitter and glitz.
To make the drama all the more real, Silvey Rose Webber has valiantly “stepped in” to replace a cast member who unfortunately had to drop out at only two weeks to opening night. Come along and share the laughter, fun, sparkle and maybe a sigh as you find a little of yourself in the beautifully written characters. Stepping Out has been entertaining audiences since its opening in the West End in 1984. You’ll come away with your feet tapping, humming a tune and feeling like stepping out yourself!
