Rotary Club of Wellington District reports that the charity bookshop open in the town centre last week had sales of around £4200, very much on a par with last year. After costs, the club will be able to pass on around £3500 to charity.”

“Yet apart from the financial side what has struck me is the community spirit that has grown since our first year. You only have to staff the shop for an hour to realise how enthusiastic the people of Wellington are about the event and what Rotary does.
“The comments of customers is very heartening and appreciative, although I was somewhat flummoxed by a customer who asked if anyone was available to help crew a yacht on a voyage from Penzance to Ireland this weekend.”
