Wellington School is delighted to have been named as a finalist in the Independent Schools of the Year Awards.
The Unsung Hero award is given to a student or other member of the wider school community who has made a noteworthy but largely understated contribution to the success of their school. More details to follow.
Back in May, Wellington School won the Boarding Schools Association award for Best Community Work. It was also shortlisted for two prestigious Tes Awards – Independent Senior School of the Year, for the school as a whole, and Subject Lead of the Year (Primary), for Prep School teacher Aaron Warren.
Meanwhile, all of the new students enjoyed their first full day at school yesterday with Year 7 pictured (below) after Chapel in the morning.
The school said: “We kicked off with a Whole School Assembly, featuring poignant words of advice for new starters from our new School Captains, Rebecca and Finn, and Prep School Captains, Archie and Georgia.
“We enjoyed stirring music from our senior musicians, congratulated students on the many achievements over the summer, welcomed our new Chaplain and were greeted by Prep School Head, Mrs Richardson, and Headmaster, Mr du Toit. A splendid start to the new year!”
