Congratulations to the staff at the Tamarind Bay restaurant on a fantastic opening night party. Manager Sham Miah and his team did a magnificent job serving nearly 200 guests with some superb Indian food and drink.
Despite it being such early days for a new eatery, the front of house team and the five chefs toiling in the kitchen never put a foot wrong. Both the service and the curries were fantastic.
“It’s such a stylish, different atmosphere. Definitely what Wellington has been waiting for,” said Abby Old, 20, out for dinner with her uncle.
Locals seem to agree with her since the Tamarind Bay is almost fully booked for its first new nights. ”Lots of people want to see what’s going on,” said Mr Miah, with a large grin.
His family has developed a group of successful restaurants serving fine Indian cuisine across west Somerset, from the Spice Club in Bridgwater to the Alcombe Tandoori in Minehead.
