In the Somerset County Ladies’ Bowls League, Wellington’s Wendy Scott, Shirley Samuel and skip Ann Cowling had a terrific win against North Petherton.
They picked up 28 shots in the course of the game while Petherton could only manage 11.
It was a different story on the next rink where June Anderson, Tracey Richbell and skip Lynda Manning were up against strong opposition.
However, they started well and the teams were level on eight shots apiece after ten ends.
North Petherton moved ahead after that to win by 20 shots to Wellington’s 11.
Lisa Dart, Angie Moore and skip Gill Groves also had a close game.
With just one end to play, the Wellington trio were 22–19 down and all looked lost.
But they picked up an amazing six shots to overtake and win it on the last end, 22–19.
The Wellington ladies were happy to complete an overall victory by 61 shots to 50.
