The ladies have enjoyed some close games at Wellington Bowling Club.
In the Thursday League, Wrens held on to second place with a comfortable win against Doves.
Rowans moved up from third place to second in the Friday League, with a good win over Hazels while fourth-placed Oaks beat Elms to move into third.
Suzanne Worth, Diana Dagg and Marguerite Nichols’ Wrens were in fine form against Diane Sutton, Janet Moore and Maggie Milton’s Doves, winning in style 14–3.
Jackie Finney, Maggie Milton and Marguerite Nichols’ Rowans started well and although Shirley Samuels’ Hazels began to catch up, it was too late and Rowans won 9–6.
Carol Horrill, Pauline Wadham and Debbie Lane’s Oaks played well and Angie Moore’s Elms tried to catch them but lost 9–6 after a close battle.
