The No 27 Wellington to Wiveliscombe bus service will increase to three days a week from next Tuesday.
It currently runs on two days from Wiveliscombe (Langley Cross) through to Wellington and on to West Buckland
The original service was axed more than ten years ago and the Wivey-Welly Bus User Group campaigned successfully for its restoration.
It has been running again since April, 2025, and the group have since been pressing for it to run more often.
The service is now operated by Somerset Council with aid from the Government’s Local Authority Bus Grant to help restore public transport in rural areas.
From April 7th, it will operate on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Friday serving. The actual timetable will remain unchanged (see above).
A spokesperson from the bus user group said: “We are continuing to promote this service so that it prospers.
“We passengers will continue to support it in increasing numbers so that we are never again faced with the possibility of its loss.”
