Talented young artist Kevin Kovacs has won yet another national competition.
The nine-year-old Beech Grove Primary School pupil was a winner in the Christmas Cards for Kids competition run by the Sun on Sunday in 2023.
Two years ago, he was a winner in the Christmas Cards for Kids competition run by the Sun on Sunday with the charity Children with Cancer UK.
Now he has been successful in the Key Stage 2 section of the Mini Maestro Art Prize, presented by The Hari London
It is a new competition celebrating the creativity of young artists across British schools.
The judges were full of praise for his entry (below), saying: “Kevin’s watercolour painting was so realistic and beautifully done that the judges couldn’t stop admiring it.”
As his prize, Kevin won a curated book bundle from Phaidon Press, an overnight stay for four at The Hari London and an invitation to the glittering Awards Evening.
His proud mum Natalia, who often posts his artwork in local social media groups, said: “We are very proud of Kevin’s achievement and seeing his art praised by a jury of this level is just amazing! He enjoyed every moment of his celebration.”
The competition organisers said: “This year’s Mini Maestro Awards Evening was a joyful celebration of young talent, shining a light on the imagination, confidence, and originality of artists across Key Stages 1 to 4.”
I have been following Kevin’s art works since his Mum started posting them on Wellington Facebook pages and have been awed by his talent and his progress. He certainly has a very bright future and I wish him the very best with it – Go Kevin!
