The Court Fields School Prom last night (Friday) was a complete celebration.
It marked the end of a stage for Year 11 pupils, a striking visual transition for parents and families of the pupils now stepping into young adulthood and a genuinely happy ending of the year for staff of the school, not least Head Teacher, Mrs Polly Matthews.
Pupils arrived at Somerset CCC’s Cooper Associates County Ground in splendour.
There were Bentleys and other expensive vehicles, very low sports cars, a couple of extraordinarily large tractors – their buckets used as seats – jalopies, and a jeep or two – all part of the visual impact ahead of the red carpet.
Then there were clothes. These included a genuine cat-walk of beautiful dresses for the girls and smart suits for almost all of the boys.
The whole parade was shared by the massed ranks of parents and families – and the staff had their moment too with a final scene of celebration.
Mrs Matthews said afterwards: “We’re so proud of our Year 11 Leavers 2026.
“They have worked very hard in the run-up to and during their exams.
“It was lovely to celebrate with them and have such a lovely evening.
“Thank you to all our Year 11 students and parents and to all our staff.
“Thanks also to the team at the Cooper Associates County Ground for a fantastic event, as always.”
