On a bright and sunny morning, the ladies from North Petherton Bowling Club came to Wellington to play three triples games.
They came hoping for a win but the Wellington sides were too good on the day, taking a victory on all three rinks.
Liz May, Janet Moore and Pauline Wadham were 5–1 down early on but soon caught up and, with a total of 11 shots in the last four ends, ensured a fine victory, 23–14.
On the second rink, Janet Lovell, June Anderson and Marguerite Nichols started well and progressed steadily, holding their lead to the end for a 17–12 win.
Debbie Beasley, Wendy Scott and Angie Moore hardly put a foot wrong all game, winning in style 32–7.
A pleasant and friendly match ended with an excellent win for the Wellington ladies by 72 shots to 33.
