Eggheads and quizzers are invited to a Charity Carvery & Quiz Evening at Rumwell Farm Shop on Friday 11 March. The event promises fun, food and fund-raising for a good cause as the evening is in aid of the Somerset Unit for Radiotherapy Equipment (SURE).
Joint Owner Anne Mitchell called on all local quizzers when she said, “Get together with a team of friends – maximum eight people per team – and be the winner of the first ever Rumwell Cup – and there’s a host of other prizes too. Help support one of our chosen charities this year and have a fun evening with good food too. There’ll be a raffle during the evening, with a selection of prizes from our shop, suppliers and friends and all proceeds are being donated to the SURE. We’re asking for a £1 donation per person on the night for the quiz which will be also given to the charity.”
She added, “The carvery has been priced at £9.50 for one course or £13.95 for two courses and for every dessert we sell an additional £1 will be donated to SURE. To book your table, please call us on 01823 461599 ext 4.”
SURE is a registered, independent charity based in Taunton. Its objective is to raise funds to help provide top class cancer diagnosis and treatment at Musgrove Park Hospital’s Beacon Centre in Taunton.
The charity has so far donated more than £1.8 million of equipment to the centre and is currently aiming to raise £500,000 by March 2017 to purchase a new Big Bore CT Scanner/Simulator to replace the previous scanner purchased by the charity.
