Wellington Library is inviting families to embark on a series of free adventures, starting this Saturday.
The programme gives families a welcoming and inclusive place to get active, be creative and enjoy stories together.
It features:
- Monthly Active Saturdays led by local leisure centre staff;
- Visits from authors and storytellers;
- Craft sessions;
- Activities for children and families with different needs, interests and abilities.
There is no need to book or be a library member. Families can arrive at the start of a session and join in.
Children can also take part in The Big Adventure, a year-round challenge with activities to enjoy at home, in libraries and while out and about.
Families who complete the activities will receive a prize.
Active Saturdays include games and activities led by leisure centre staff.
They are for families with children aged three and over. Children must come with an adult.
Find dates and details on the Library Adventures webpage.
Cllr Federica Smith-Roberts, Lead Member for Communities, Environment and Climate Change, said: “Library Adventures is all about bringing families together to try something new in a friendly setting.
“With active games, stories, crafts and activities to enjoy beyond the library, there is something for everyone.
“We hope families in Wellington will come along and join the adventure.”
The programme is delivered by Somerset Libraries, Somerset Public Health, Freedom Leisure and Everyone Active deliver the programme together.
It is funded by Arts Council England Project Grants and Somerset Public Health fund Library Adventures.
