Transition Town Wellington’s apple juicing project 2022 is well under way with apples juiced at The Greenhouse, Brendon Orchard’s Co-op juicing facility in Wiveliscombe. The Co-op runs community juicing sessions on Thursday evenings at this time of year.
With the help of a lot of other volunteers, TTW filled 28 bottles in half an hour, some of which are now for sale at The Blue Pantry in Wellington. TTW said: “Thanks to the Brendon Co-op team – Milly, Summer and Josiane – for making it so enjoyable.
Apple picking continues at Rewe Farm Old Orchard on Saturday at 2pm. There are five trees to be picked.
Forthcoming apple washing days are on Monday, October 17th, at 2pm in Wellington and on Wednesday, October 19th, at 2pm at Rewe.
The Greenhouse has been booked for Tuesday, October 25th, for the main juicing. There are two shifts planned – in the morning starting at 9am and in the afternoon starting at 1pm until 5pm.
