Our High Street was a hive of activity yesterday (Saturday) for the biggest Wellington Independent Market so far.
There were 35 stalls selling a range of products and food while a number of local organisations were also in attendance.
Entertainment was provided by Skintight Samba and the Ukes of Wellington along with an Open Mic session.
The regular markets are organised by Maxine Price and her daughter Charlotte Beatty who run the popular Nook and Cranny shop in our town centre.
They said: “We’d like to thank everyone who supported us, particularly all the traders including Bluebell Gems who sponsored today.”
Vickie Harrison of Bluebell Gems is running this month’s London Marathon in aid of Marie Curie and members of Wellington Rotary Club were collecting for the cancer charity.
The next Wellington Independent Market takes place on Saturday, June 6th.

I popped up to watch Skintight Samba play, not having seen them for a while and was so impressed. Much funkier these days and playing really well together, looking happy.
Nice to see so many stalls there and bumped into loads of people I knew so was in town far longer than I’d anticipated. Nice atmosphere and a reminder, if we need it, that we live in a great community.
