Carnival came once more on one of the warmest, sunniest evenings of the autumn. Drawn out by the gorgeous weather, families packed Wellington’s pavements from teatime onwards waiting for a parade that would thrill thousands of excited children. As usual, they weren’t disappointed. The majorettes twirled, the carnival queens were beautiful, the floats were larger and more gobsmacking than ever. With such a happy, friendly atmosphere the policemen on duty had time to nick chips rather than trouble-makers! Enjoy the show.
